POSITION INFORMATION

Hours:
Half-time (benefit eligible part-time), day shifts. 40 hours BIWEEKLY. 

Position summary:
The Courtesy Van driver is an experienced professional prepared to work with staff and volunteers to promote a quality transportation program for Southwest General. The driver transports customers to and from Oakview, SWG and off site campuses from our community.  Operates the handicapped wheelchair van safely, providing excellent customer service, securing it properly with each use. Assists office with client intakes, scheduling and record keeping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s license. Past driving infractions must be minimal in nature.

    
Required length and type of experience:

• 2 years work experience in hospital or healthcare preferred.
• Six months to one year to learn the responsibility of this position.
• Prior experience with volunteers is very helpful.
• Clear written and verbal skills.
• Must effectively demonstrate critical thinking skills.
• Must be a team player and willing to be flexible with schedules to meet department/organizational needs.

    
Required licensure, certification or registry:

• Valid driver’s license and insurance (while driving vans covered under hospital insurance).
