FITNESS SPECIALIST

Summary

• Hours:
  • Full-time, varied shifts.

• Position summary:
  • This position requires a Bachelors Degree in exercise physiology or an exercise-related field. This person must have a current CPR certification. Possession of a personal trainer certification with one of the following agencies is required: ACE, NSCA, NATA, NASM, AFAA, ISSA, IFPA, NCSF, NFPT, ACSM.  Certification can be obtained within six months of being hired.

• Education:
  • Requires a Bachelors Degree in exercise physiology or an exercise-related field.
• 
  Required length and type of experience:
  • This person must have a minimum of one (1) year experience working in a fitness facility.
    
    The person must possess competent knowledge of exercise principles, fitness testing, health risk and fitness program design. Finally, this person must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory, computer and organizational skills.
• 
  Required licensure, certification or registry:
  • CPR certification.
