• POSITION INFORMATION
  • Position summary:
    • The Endoscopy Technician- Lead performs processing activities following prescribed illustrated work instructions. The acceptability of work is verified using prescribed indicators and is accomplished by (1) direct observation and inspection of final product or (2) process outcome guidance is provided by the Clinical Manager or Endoscopy Registered Nurse. The lead will possess comprehensive knowledge of principles of microbiology, decontamination, sterilization and infection control; knowledge of multiple endoscope functionalities and processing ; knowledge of principles of quality control, quality assurance and continuous improvement process. The lead will closely adhere to SGNA endoscopic manual decontamination and automated reprocessing directives and completes all required quality control initiatives and associated documentation. The lead maintains all processes related to the Automated Endoscopic Reprocessor (AER) and completes inventory, ordering and distribution of all endoscopic supplies and instrumentation. The lead tech will be responsible for the education and training of other technicians and will act as the subject matter expert of the role.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 
    Required length and type of experience:
    • Two years of previous experience with instrument or endoscopic processing or surgical technology required.
  • 
    Required licensure, certification or registry:
    • Must maintain certification in CPR and be able to provide basic life support.
