PARAMEDIC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Southwest General’s award-winning main Emergency Department has 52 beds, serving our communities’ needs for emergency care 24 hours a day. For individuals suffering severe traumatic injuries, our main ED is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma as a Level III trauma center. No call, no rotating shifts.

HOURS:
Half-time, benefit eligible night shifts. 7:00PM-7:30AM with rotating weekends. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
The E.D. Paramedic is a professional caregiver who provides patient care in accordance with the Medical Support Team Physician, Southwest General Health Center, and the Ohio Revised Code. The E.D. Paramedic will work within the licensure of the State of Ohio Paramedic Certification. The E.D. Paramedic is responsible for providing or assisting with patients’ care, transporting, monitoring equipment function and responsible for documenting on appropriate forms. The E.D. Paramedic must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age and/or psycho-social maturity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma or GED required.  

Required length of experience:
Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Current Paramedic certification from Ohio Emergency Medical Services required.
CPR, BLS, ACLS required.
PALS and BTLS preferred.
