REGISTERED NURSE PROGRESSIVE CARE

Progressive Care, or PCU, is a 16 bed unit similar to a step-down ICU. The population includes cardiac post cath procedure, COPD, and ETOH patients. PCU occasionally can take new grads, but prefers telemetry experience. PCU staff are also often cross trained to Critical Care.

HOURS:
The RN Weekend program was implemented to allow flexible scheduling to help support staffing to care for patients and balance the professional nurse's life. The weekend begins Friday at 7:00 P.M, and ends on Monday 7:00 A.M., for full time weekend program employees scheduled for two twelve (12) hour shifts each weekend.  Full time weekend employees will earn a premium rate when working weekend shifts.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. They act as a liaison between physicians, patient and family, and collaborates with other health care members. They assist in the orientation process of new personnel, and may participate in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by Ohio State Board of Nursing.

Required length of experience:
New grads welcome to apply. Telemetry experience preferred.

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing. 
CPR, BLS & ACLS required.
