OUTPATIENT LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Summary

• Hours:
  • PRN, varied hours and shifts as needed. Rotating Saturdays.

• Position summary:
  • The Outpatient Assistant is responsible for providing quality patient care, reception, registration and order entry of patients and exams. The Outpatient Assistant is also responsible for blood drawing procedures. The Outpatient Assistant works with other healthcare members to provide a clean working environment. The Outpatient Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.

• Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent with knowledge of medical terminology and blood drawing. Knowledge of EKG preferred.
• 
  Required length and type of experience:
  • Keyboard/Computer experience required. Clerical, medical terminology, and blood drawing experience preferred. Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, and/or Lab Assistant experience preferred.
