  • Hours: 
    • FULL-TIME, Days, 8:30A - 5:00P with varied start and end times
  • Position summary:
    • Provides medical and administrative support to pain management providers in the delivery of quality, and efficient care for both office visits and hospital procedures. The incumbent will: Assist the physician during office procedures and physical examinations, maintain patient histories and record pertinent patient information in the electronic medical records system. The medical assistant is responsible for a combination of strong organizational and communication skills with patients, family members, physicians, health center personnel and co-workers. The medical assistant will answer and return telephone calls as well as support the front desk, and other administrative activities. Will provide "excellent" patient care while performing all duties.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • Graduate from a medical assisting program or comparable education and training (such as phlebotomy course, microbiology course).
  • 
    Required length and type of experience:
    • One (1) to two (2) years experience working as a medical assistant following graduation of a medical assistant program.
    • Five (5) or more years of clinical experience as a medical assistant in a physicians office will be considered in lieu of medical assistant certificate.
    • Necessary clinical skills include: Taking vital signs, in-office patient testing, and sterile technique.
    • Preferred office skills include: electronic medical record, patient registration, scheduling and precertification of procedures and tests.
    • A new medical assistant graduate may be considered in some instances.

    Required licensure, certification or registry:
    • Completion of a medical assistant program/or as noted above.
