Southwest General Medical Group's featured services:

Monday – Friday, 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., with varied start and end times

PRN employees need to work a minimal of three (8 hour) shifts per 4-week schedule. 

Assist physicians and staff for general patient care and clerical duties in a physician office - outpatient setting. Demonstrates initiative to take appropriate action in day-to-day activities without being prompted. Able to problem solve and stay current with Healthcare and payor regulations. 


High school graduate, minimum; certification from approved school with certificate in Medical assisting preferred. Medical terminology required. Able to perform computer entry and basic office computer skills.

Required length of experience: Externship of at least 100 hours or 6 months previous office/OP setting experience preferred. Six months experience in Physician or Hospital setting, with Obstetric and Gynecology knowledge preferred. Experience in maintaining patient history and record keeping. Strong organizational and communication skills with the general public, in person, and on the telephone. Necessary clinical skills include: performing venipuncture, injections, taking vital signs, autoclaving, and assisting physician during physical examinations and surgical procedures.

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Medical Assisting certificate preferred.
