ADVANCE PRACTICE PROVIDERS – SOUTHWEST GENERAL MEDICAL GROUP (SGMG) WESTSIDE GASTROENTEROLOGY (INPATIENT ROUNDING)

Southwest General Medical Group, Inc. – Westside Gastroenterology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders of the esophagus, liver, gallbladder, stomach, pancreas, small intestine and colon. Our physicians have years of experience in evaluating and caring for patients with all types of gastroenterological conditions. Our advanced practice providers provide individual care and attention to each patient and combine clinical expertise with advanced technology to provide high quality, compassionate care close to home.

HOURS:
Full-time, Monday- Friday, varied hours

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed professional who will function independently, but provides care under the supervision of the Medical Director. They will plan, implement and evaluate treatment in accordance with patient care standards and physician order, as applicable. They will act as a liaison between the physician, patient and family, and collaborates with other health care professionals as appropriate. Preforms inpatient rounding on patients with no outpatient appointments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Nurse Practitioner: State of Ohio graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Physician Assistant:  Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program. Master degree preferred, or eligibility for prescriptive authority under Ohio law.  

Required length and type of experience:

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a physician office or hospital setting (experience in clinic setting a plus); Clinical skills required will be dictated by scope of services offered.

Must have strong organizational skills and communication skills, with the general public, in person and on the telephone.

Experience in the specialty area indicated preferred.

Required licensure, certification or registry:

Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing

Physician Assistant: Current PA licensure by the State Medical Board of Ohio
