PHLEBOTOMIST – SW MHMC LAB DRAW CENTER

Our clinical laboratory offers a full spectrum of services and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). This means that our lab has met the rigorous performance standards established by both organizations, validating the high-quality services we provide. Our clinical lab offers comprehensive services for rapid and accurate diagnosis:

  • Hematology

  • Blood bank

HOURS:

Half-time – Benefits Eligible (20 hours a week), Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Phlebotomist under the direction of the Coordinator performs procedures involving blood collection, washroom, central receiving, clerical, and limited technical functions to assist the technologists and technicians in performing laboratory analysis. The Phlebotomist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Successfully completed Phlebotomy courses and training/externship required.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Required length of experience:
At least one year experience in drawing patients of all ages (newborn to 100+ years) or documented minimum 100 draws during externship experience
Working knowledge of computers required.  

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
