Southwest General Medical Group, Inc. - Behavioral Health provides assessment, counseling, crisis intervention and self-help services. Our experienced, board-certified psychiatrists work with adult and geriatric patients to help them deal with mental health or chemical dependency issues and life-changing events (such as the loss of a loved one or divorce).

We provide individual and family-counseling services for a variety of issues including, but not limited to:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Social Worker/Counselor provides psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapy and counseling services to a diverse population seeking outpatient mental health services.  The Mental Health Social Worker/Counselor works independently but often in collaboration with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and other professionals in treatment planning and implementation. Services may include individual as well as couple and family treatment. The Mental Health Social Worker/Counselor is responsible for maintaining all necessary documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Graduate from an accredited graduate school of social work, or counseling, or relevant mental health field. 

Required length of experience:
Two years’ work experience in providing mental health services. Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology and diagnostic criteria. The ability to provide psychotherapy and/or counseling. 

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Licensed as an LISW OR LPCC in the State of Ohio.
