ASSOCIATE HEALTH CLINIC REGISTERED NURSE - EMPLOYEE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES (EOHS)


HOURS:
Full-time, day shifts, Monday-Friday. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary focus of the role is to collaboratively and proactively reduce work related injuries by providing ongoing education and assessment of work-related illnesses and injuries; By applying a systematic process of assessment, data collection, planning, intervention and evaluation the incumbent is required to have positive relationships with all departments.

In addition, the RN will be responsible for reviewing the return to work assessments for occupational and non-occupational injury or illness. The RN evaluates work-related injuries and illnesses and assists the employee for referral and follow-up with the Workers’ Compensation Specialist and the Employee’s medical provider of choice. Assessment for employee participation into the Transitional Work program is a responsibility for this position.

The RN promotes health & safety behaviors among employees, performs wellness screenings and identifies hazard prevention that supports a safe & healthy work environment while staying consistent with organizational goals.

The RN must accurately perform Pre-placement Assessments with the knowledge & understanding of what the essential functions of that job are and when to refer the assessment to the EOHS Medical Director. 

The RN must be knowledgeable about vaccines, administration and interpretation of serologic results and the applicability to vaccinate or not.

The RN must be knowledgeable about blood-borne pathogens and the current infection control guidelines and follow-up associated with pre- and post-exposure education, counseling and prophylaxis.
In collaboration with SWGH’S infection control department, the RN must accurately assess Healthcare Workers for their ability to return to work regarding Infection Control issues that may affect the health and safety of other healthcare workers, patients and visitors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
RN with a Bachelor’s Degree Required.
A proven track record in occupational health with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Occupational health may be considered in lieu of a BS Degree in Nursing

Required length and type of experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Occupational Care is required. 
One (1) year Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience preferred.

Required licensure, certification or registry:
RN License, State of Ohio
COHN-S preferred
